My doctor recommended I try this approach to eating. Although I've dropped 5-1/2 lbs in three weeks while eating 20% more calories than I should (No exercise yet), it is *not* a weight loss diet. It is a diet approach that avoids those foods which might stress your immune system over time.
The food recommendations are tailored to your specific ABO blood type. The author does an excellent job of explaining the scientific validity and history of the concept. It is not a new concept. Other doctors--including the author's father--have explored the concept earlier. It has it's critics--but very few--and none of those have offered evidence to refute the thinking; they have criticized the lack of formal studies that prove the concept.
As for my experience, it's been only a few weeks that I've adopted the recommendations but already the chronic bloating I suffered from has stopped. I'm anxious to see if I reap other health benefits by year's end.
